Anna Margetis is a driven scholar-athlete who thrives in a collaborative and diverse environment where growth and high levels of performance occur. Looking for an opportunity to become a speech-langauge pathologist utilize my knowledge and love for communication elements and helping others in a practical setting where I can make an immediate impact on my client’s goals and successes. I am a firm believer in building lasting relationships by leveraging creativity, emotional intelligence, and interpersonal skills that I have obtained at the academic and athletic levels.
Purpose
I want to become a speech therapist because I have a passion for helping others communicate effectively, enabling them to express themselves and engage more fully in their lives. Witnessing the transformative power of speech therapy to overcome communication challenges inspires me to make a meaningful difference in people's lives, fostering confidence and independence. Being a speech therapist allows me to combine my empathy, communication skills, and desire to empower individuals to reach their full potential.
Goals
As a speech therapist fresh out of undergraduate school, my goals include gaining practical experience through internships or entry-level positions to hone my skills in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning. Additionally, I aim to pursue further education or certifications to specialize in specific areas such as pediatric speech disorders, adult rehabilitation, or accent modification. Lastly, I aspire to contribute positively to my clients' lives by providing compassionate, evidence-based therapy and continuously seeking opportunities for professional growth and development within the field.
Teaching Philosophy
In my classroom, I believe students should have the opportunity to grow, grow as a student and as a person. Students will be placed in an environment filled with the opportunity to express themselves through outlets of active learning and engagement with others. Together I plan to create a safe place of respect, kindness, responsibility, communication, and enthusiasm to help each student grow into the best versions of themselves.
